Early Christmas present for Yanks fans. ;-)

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Surely the Reds already have Freel, who's the same player but cheaper? Why would they give up prospects for Womack?

Hopefully we didn't give up much, he'll be a good decent utility player capable of player just about everywhere. I can give you more info when I find out who was in the deal.

Kevin Howard is one of the names I'm hearing. I think O'brien is trying to see if he can come up with a worse transaction than signing Eric Milton-before he gets the ax.

Womack now beomes a source for cheap SB's in some deeper leagues. Before Cano was brought up he had around 20 sb's and was headed north of 40 sb's
