Hey but Mench has the largest head in the Majors according to reports. Bigger than Polanco's...bigger than Balco Barry's.

I'm surprised the Yanks didn't give him a run at that price. Wang+minor prospect such as Tim Battle may have done the trick. Wang+Melky Cabrera would've certainly been more than enough.
Why? Yanks would have to pay him 10M plus and they already have Cano. He can;t and/or won't play CF. Why trade for someone like that when he does not fit the teams needs?
Besides, Clueless Brian is too busy sitting on his hands or signing downgrades to his bullpen to be concerned with this sort of thing. Right now I am sure he is contemplating the wisdom of Bubba Crosby vs Jacque Jones. Or whether he should bring back Nuclear Al for a left specialist role.

Money's never an issue with the Yankees...and I'm sure he could be convinced to play 2B eventually if he has to. Would he rather play CF for the Yanks or 2B (is he, even or is Vidro?) for the Nats?

LF here he comes:
FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal confirms that Alfonso Soriano deal and says minor league right-hander Armando Galarraga is the third player the Rangers will receive along with Brad Wilkerson and Terrmel Sledge.
Galarraga was among the Nationals' top four or five pitching prospects. Rosenthal says the Nationals intend to shift Alfonso Soriano to left field. It's unclear how Soriano feels about that. Dec. 8 - 12:07 am et
