WOW

I did not see this coming. Sori's value drops significantly moving from Texas to Washington.

Texas doesn't get an arm in return though? I like this deal from Washington's side, because I don't think they gave up anything THAT big for him. He should fit nicely into the number 3 or 4 spot in that lineup. God knows they could use a big bat.

It drops certainly, but it is not destroyed. He's still the top 2B in fantasy.

Two thoughts:

1) Utley is now the #1 2B next year.
2) Texas must have a deal in place shipping Mench out, they've got too many OFs now...

Not destroyed per se, but I wouldn't touch him in the first 3 rounds anymore, where I would be all over him ~#10 before. I could see maybe 25 HR from him this season. I'd rather take Utley with his home park, upside, and (for now) better lineup around him.

why on earth would the Rangers want 2 more OF players??? doesn't make much sense for them unless they turn them or others around for some pitching! :-[

i agree. his fantasy value takes a huge hit. Helps the nats I guess but I'm gonna cite the same home/road splits that everyone is so familiar with by now and say that i don't know how well he can even help them.

1. who's going to play 2B for the rangers?

2. maybe his value increases when they move into a new stadium but that is years down the road so he probably won't even be on the team by then. actually, the new stadium makes no difference in his stats for now or then so if anyone else was thinking it I just disproved myself, and you, all when trying to make a point. well done.
