Question about middle relivers or closers

Postby kentx12 » Wed Dec 07, 2005 7:42 pm

Does anyone know of any middle relivers or closers that are going to have starting pitcher eligability this year. My league counts holds and I usually try to grab a couple of middle relivers that qualify as sp to plug in when I dont have any starters going but I cant come up with any for this coming year.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

Hector Carrasco
Ron Villone
Kelvim Escobar(I think, but he'll probably be starting instead)

Only ones I can think of off the top of my head, not sure on Villone actually either.

Oh, those SP holders are PURE gold, aren't they!!

Here's a list of guys that had 1 or more starts and 2 or more holds/saves in 2005. It's not in any order. That's a start at least. Maybe the rest of the Cafe can help with who will be starting, who will be relieving, and whether there are some not on this list who should be considered.

Sturtze
Julio Mateo
Belisle
Wood (KC and CHC)
Acevado
Benoit
Heilman (if he's not starting in 2006, he'll be a good choice).
Pete Walker
Wasdin
Jorge Sosa
Gobble
Kam Loe
CJ Wilson
Papelbon
Rusch
DuBose
W. Alvarez
Fassero
Helling
Escobar
McClung
RColon
Kyle Davies
Hensley

I think that's complete.

No problem. If you take this list and rank them in some fashion, I'd love to see it. I may get around to doing that eventually.
