Traded Bayliss to the Pirates for Mark Redman...Your thoughts?

Decent trade imo...still want Benson Though.

Good trade, Bayliss is going to be an excellent bullpen guy. But so are Sisco, Burgos, and DeMaria. The Royals need affordable veteran starters and have a surplus of young bullpen arms.

I guess its a decent trade...we didn't give up much...but Redman is not anything to be proud of either. If I hear KC talk radio mention the words "veteran innings eater" one more time I'm gonna puke... :-P

Then again he sadly becomes one of our better starters just by default... :-/

This is why I think the trade was acceptable. That and he isn't 38 years old. Anytime you can get an upgrade somewhere you gotta take it.

I just hope his first half of last year is more of what we see then his second half :-o

yep, still want Benson but I don't like to see two "veterans" eating innings. :-°

I think its a great trade for pirates. Not only did they find somebody stupid enough to give up something for Redman, they got the Royals to pay his salary. Great move for the pirates. I would have traded Redman for a bag of chips.

Does anyone else believe that it will also benefit the bullpen?

With a guy like Redmond, we wouldn't have had to tolerate a guy like Lima last year.

This also reminds me of when the Royals (years ago) signed Jeff Suppan.
