Josh Barfield is about to ready to supplant Loretta at 2b.
I do think that Loretta would have brought the Pads much more though if he had not been injured much of 05, but the Pads are definitely lining up to be big spenders in the 06 free agent market.

That and clear a space for Barfield. Also, the Laird/Eaton deal I don't think has been finalized. But Milli is for sure only a defensive catcher and would back up either Olivio or Laird.
