Perhaps, but I think KT would rather let Barfield get an extra year of seasoning before coming to the bigs.

There were rumors that a Loretta trade meant Nomar signing was a done deal as well and if that's the case, I don't mind the swap. Otherwise, it's a complete rip (although it would free up extra money to give to Hoffman).

I would venture to say (of course this will be effected if Manny gets dealt) that he'd bat 2nd and his runs will increase along with some power number because Fenway is much more hitter friendly than SD.

Loretta hit 13 and 16 in San Diego. 20 shouldn't be too hard in Boston. His 3 last year was due to a wrist injury that has healed by now.
