Many sources today have the Mets re-interested in their pursuit of Zito. They were talking possible extension for Zito. This will also be contingent on them moving Benson, most likely for MacDougal or Affeldt from KC. I like Zito.
My thoughts exactly, however I can also see Glavine, Seo, and Zambrano having standard mediocre years. The Zito signing is important, becasue I don't think Benson is the pitcher that the Mets thought they were getting. It'd actually be:
Pedro/Zito/Glavine/Trachsel/Seo or Zambrano
I like Trachsel better than Glavine, Seo or Zambrano next year. Hopefully Seo can continue what he started at the end of 05.

Milledge and/or Heilman, probably...no Manny is fine with me...the following lineup should do quite OK if Reyes can take a couple walks and they move Beltran to 2. Pitching/relief is where they should be fine-tuning.
Landing a top #2 pitcher behind Pedro is more key for the Mets imo then getting another bat. Zito will definitely improve their rotation to the point of making them a big time favorite in the NL for 06 and with 2 studs at the top of the rotation, the Mets will be able to make some noise in the playoffs as well.
