Very Busy Tuesday

Postby wrveres » Tue Dec 06, 2005 11:36 pm

Today was a busy busy day
Many moves made ...]
Many new rumors..

It is going to take some time to absorb

Benson to the royals ... Kills his value

Vazquez to Detroit .. Wash

Dunn to 1B No change in value short term. Hurt his long-term value.

Casey to Pittsburgh. Kills what was left of his value

Eldred .. Maybe next year ..

Eaton to Texas again. The number of days until he "breaks-out" are severally limited.

Hawkins in Baltimore wash

Kline in San Fran. That is a plus

Grady Little gets another gig .. props to him ..

Terrmel Sledge has surfaced again .. This time in Petco?

Burroughs to Tampa Bay. I guess David was right. He does belong in the minors. Tampa is a perfect fit.

David Wells to Oakland. Well somebody needs to buy the beer for the kids.

Trot Nixon to Pittsburgh, for Redman? This ruins Trot Nixon, as they will expect him to bat against lefties and rightys

Trevor Hoffman is having a gut check moment. what is the price on loyalty anyways Trevor? 3 million over two years? 4 million? How much is it really Trevor? :-o

speaking of loyalty .. another big market team is trying to get out of another awful contract as Boston let it be known that Edgar Renteria is now available. What was the price for loyalty in his case? 3 Million? Now what did it get your punk ass Edgar? Booed and Traded!!

AJ Burnett signs in Toronto .. Now you almost cannot blame him. It is not as if he ever played for STL, and it was a stupid amount of money.

How does Dunn moving to 1B hurt his long-term value? He'll be playing an easier position which will help his body and hopefully deter injury. If anything the move to 1B actually helps his long-term value.

You're telling me Arizona didn't check with him before asking? :-? Talk about a time-waster >_<

Eh...I think if anything this might drop him down 4-5 spots if that. This Casey trade also means that Willy Mo would most likely to start in the OF next year, which would mean his value goes up a bit. I am chopping at the bit to see a full season with Willy Mo..could be one of the steals of the 2006 season.

The Casey trade should up Pena and Kearns, since there is no longer a competition between them for playing time. Also, 1B has way more sluggers than LF for those in leagues that separate out the OF categories, so in those I think he drops at least a whole round... especially since his BA typically sucks.

I think it hurts his value also. 1b is deeper than OF - consider that you have to fill 3 outfield spots on your team, the quality per number of positions is harder to find.
