The Red Sox are preparing a four-year, $40 million offer to Johnny Damon, sources told the Providence Journal's Sean McAdam. Boras and Red Sox CEO Larry Lucchino had a negotiating session late Monday night, which was productive, McAdam says. Neither the Yankees, Tigers or Cubs has gotten involved, so it's unclear who Boston is bidding against right now. Still, the Red Sox aren't going to get him any cheaper than four years and $40 million. Dec. 6 - 7:01 pm et
Chances are looking good Damon stays a Red Sox.

I doubt Damon signs for a while. Boras seems to be set on getting the Yankees involved, but they aren't biting unless it's for 3 years. Boras will likely carry this thing out for a while, like he usually does.
