Been a rumor for quite some time now, and could quite possibly turn out true. Got a conformation link about a trade, or is this just another thread to talk about the rumor? :-?

I've heard this same rumor with Arian Gonzalez, if this happens Padres got jipped.

yep...I heard it on XM as well. If/when official,
doesn't seem like they got enough for Eaton.

Night Train is dishing out the goods tonight.

He mentioned he thought something was happening
with the Braves shortly because the the guys from the
AJC were running around in a tizzy.

I think he was until he really broke throught befroe getting hurt last year. I forget how many quality starts he had, but I don't think he ever got shelled.

Eaton is a slightly below league average starter with the potential to be more; I can somewhat understand why the Padres would want to deal him (as I suppose he's due to make ~$4.5-5M in arbitration), but this is a very paltry return. Laird's not that bad of a catching prospect (there aren't terribly many of them), but I would imagine that the Rangers' would be giving up more (perhaps, Adrian Gonzalez, as was rumored before).
