Did anyone else notice this?

LaTroy Hawkins will likely be traded to the Mets, says USA Today's Bob Nightengale.

LaTroy Hawkins has been traded from the Giants to the Orioles for Steve Kline, USA Today's Bob Nightengale and the Baltimore Sun reports.

Does anyone else find that hilarious?

Both of them are horrible... it really doesn't matter. The Giants wanted another lefty out of the pen since Eyre is gone so they traded one bad player for another bad player. I'll tell you that every time LaTroy came in a game, no lead was safe. Who knows, maybe this will help both of them - a change of scenery can always be good - but I don't think its that big a difference. I hope to dear god - at least for O's fans sake - that Hawkins won't be tried in the closer's role there. Regardless, when Sabean made the Hawkins deal I was very unhappy - I thought it was one of his worst moves in a while - I guess I was right

where has Sabeans magic touch gone sicne the nathan trade? im losing faith in him, but this is a great chance this offseason to redeem himself, so far not so good

Yeah the Nathan trade was a And to know that we also included Liriano and Bonser in the deal its a travesty. I still trust Sabes - he has been a solid GM - but some of his recent moves have been questionable. He doesn't have a lot of room to work though - there is a lot of salary tied up in guys like Durham and Alfonso. It'll be interesting to see what we do in a couple years when those guys contracts are up and Bonds has retired and we have some money to spend

I guess I'm in the minority, but I like Kline more than Hawkins.

These guys are not as categorically bad as people are making it out to be in this thread--both have excelled in the past in niche roles. Hawkins has always been a miserable closer and SP but a great 8th inning guy and Kline has been very successful as a lefty specialist. Both of these guys could provide good value to both teams this season due to the change of scenery if they are used correctly.
