I got this rumor off the Tribe message board. They cited fox sports as their source I believe. Looks like a 3 year deal for 21-24 mil. Thats a lot of money and years for a 38 year old closer. We will see. The source also says the deal could be finalized Tuesday afternoon.

Seeing as though Loiaza got 7 mil, this isnt too much of a stretch. Good signing by the Tribe if it is true.

Considering the current market for closers I would say $7-$8 is a steal for Hoffman even though 3 years is a risk for a guy his age. If I was the Padres I would have matched that.

If Hoffman really gets 21-24 for three years I'm gonna be pissed at the Phils for paying 18 for Gordon.

Interesting. Based on this and Ryan and Gordon, Wickman should be able to exact a sweet deal from Baltimore or Altanta, considering that the loser will be stuck playing wait and see on Urbina's criminal charges.
