A-Rod has dual citizenship to here and the D.R.

Can you get that without ever having been to the D.R.? My guess would be no. I'd like to see him play for the US though.

From http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/ne ... ayers.html

Bay, Jason Canada PIT
Bedard, Erik Canada BAL
Cormier, Rheal Canada PHI
Crain, Jesse Canada MIN
Francis, Jeff Canada COL
Gagne, Eric Canada LA
Green, Steve Canada FA
Guiel, Aaron Canada KC
Hill, Shawn Canada FA
Koskie, Corey Canada TOR

Martin, Russ Canada LA
McKay, Cody Canada FA
Morneau, Justin Canada MIN
Orr, Peter Canada ATL

My guess from that list:

3B Koskie
SS ?
LF Bay
CF Guiel?
RF Stairs/Walker
DH Walker/Stairs

SP1 Bedard
SP2 Francis
SP3 Loewen?

CL Gagne
SU Reitsma
SU Cormier

MR Crain

Heh, I just found Baseball America's predictions. They're kind of similar to mine, except I completely forgot about Rich Harden. Oops.

That US Lineup doesn't look close to as good as the DR's. But, having Bonds will be a huge advantage ;-D

Chavez over Chipper :-t :-t :-t :-t Chipper is the FAAAAR better player if he's healthy, which he will be if he's playing on the roster.

Surprised I didn't see some sort of Mookie Special already like...

Bay refuses to play in the World Baseball Classic because they told him they didn't have a Home Run Derby that he could get 0 in. ;-7

Yeah, I know it's funnier when he does it...but I'm trying to save face for the Pirates. :,-(

Manny was born in the Dr. Arod (who has never been to the DR) has a parent from there. accodring to Selig on XM radio they are using Olympic rules so if you can get a passport in a country you can play there.

On another note: They also are using IOC drug testing rules though if you test positive you won't be suspened from any MLB games :-D .

That is completely wrong. Arod actually lived in the DR from ages 4 to 8 and goes back there every off-season. Before the idea of the WBC was even created, Arod stated many times that he would love to one day represent his parents' country.

From a business point of view, Arod has to represent the Dominican. He is treated like a hero down there and has many, many endorsements. If he were to not play for the Dominican the people would never forgive him. He would lose all the money from his endorsements and the respect of the Dominican people. If he doesn't play for the US, no one here would hold it against him.

And, all offseason he has been quoted many times in the Dominican papers as saying that he will play for the Dominican team.
