Chad Billingsley Next Year?

Postby JRM4833 » Mon Dec 05, 2005 3:17 pm

Anyone have any advice on what I should do with this guy for next year? In a complicated league, but here are my options: Keep him on my minor league roster and forfeit a 1st round pick in minor league draft this year; keep him but promote him to majors now so I can still get my 1st round draft pick (this would force me to use league funds which could be used to sign free agents); or let him go and have the possibility of maybe snagging him in the second round of the minor league draft (not likely but a possibility). Is he going to start in the bigs next year? Has his value gone up or down this year (I assume it went up slightly)? Any help would be appreciated.

Depends on what kind of talent is out there for this years draft. I would like to drop him and hope to get him in the second rd but if there isn't much talent out there, (alot of guys being kept?) I might keep him and forfeit the first rd pick.

To make things easier for people, I'll try to list everyone who is being kept for next year. Also, I am likely dropping Hanley Ramirez and I've already promoted Prince Fielder for next year.

Minor leaguers kept for next year (sorry for the lack of any order):

C Hamels
G Miller
A Lerew
J Reed
J Franceour
M Cain
I Stewart
C Maybin
L Milledge
J Upton
H Bailey
A Miller
J Hermidia
E Encarncion
O Quintanilla
J Neimann
J Guzman
J Weaver
S Drew
F Hernandez
D Young
A Gordon

I'd probably go ahead and keep him.

I hear he has a good chance to be in the bigs next year, which would make it worth it to promote him now, pay the money, and get my draft pick this year. What do you think? And thanks for the responses. ;-D

if you could get Brandon Wood or F. Liriano, I would not forfeit your first pick and promote Chad. otherwise, keep Chad and wait until round 2.

You don't think it's worth promoting him and taking a chance with him getting to the bigs next year?
