The A's and Dodgers are reportedly discussing a deal that would sent Barry Zito to Los Angeles for Milton Bradley. We can only assume some very good prospects would be involved, as Zito has far more trade value than Bradley, a player the vast majority of teams seem to have no interest in taking a chance on. It figures that top pitching prospect Chad Billingley would be involved. The A's might also want a Joel Guzman or Russell Martin.
Where did this come from? I have a feeling Zito is a gonner, but they can get much more than this. Bradley doesn't seem like a 'Beane' player (horrible makeup).

Yeah, that'd be nice, but Network Associates (McAfee?) isn't exactly what you'd call a bandbox either from what I know. Plus the foul territory is godlike for pitchers in Oakland.
With the trade, why do the A's need Bradley with Kotsay in CF? Would he replace Payton at corner OF?

That's true. I do think Zito would improve though.

not many teams have the farm system to match LA's. Guzman and Billinglsey (if true) is 2 of the top 10 in all of baseball, so the Mets will easily have to pay with Milledge at least to get Zito

I don't know that he'd improve, but I doubt that his value would be effected much at all. It can probably go either way, depending how he would potentiall feel with LA.
Again with Bradley, there's no real need at corner OF as Swisher will probably start and Payton played well for Oakland last year. I would have to assume a nice prospect would be coming over also. (Which will probably the wildcard in the deal for Oakland down the road).
