Yeah, gaming on a Mac in general is very limited.

It's a pretty good game. Definitely much better than Civ III. I didn't really care for that version. I noticed in Civ IV that you can get other civs to give you all their cities sometimes. Just start a war with them. Then offer a peace treaty, select all their cities, $$$, and whatever else you want and click "What is the price for peace?". They will offer you the deal you selected so you just accept and get all their cities, excluding the Capital of course. Sometimes though you can only get some of their cities.

I have yet to get more than one little piddly city from the AI. But maybe that's because I don't think big like you do.

Frickin memory hog. Otherwise, its a really good game.

There is a memory leak. You have to reboot every so often. It's better since the patch but the problem is still there.

Also, unless you surpass the recommended system requirements, don't expect to be able to play on the larger maps.

They proly rushed it to get it out before the holiday season. I'm sure the problem will be fixed with the updates.

I quit the tutorial early too, I was eager to play and my 512mb of memory wasn't holding up to Sid's talking.

Not that it's even holding up now. It's frustratingly slow on my awesome computer.

I played on the smallest map on the easiest setting and got my ass whooped. Dunno what happened but as soon as I built muskateers and grenadiers I went to war. Since I was so far ahead in technology, I figured I'd kick some serious booty.

One thing I don't like about the game are unrealistic instances where my muskateers were slaughtered by archers. But those are few and far in between.

Yeah, that does happen sometimes. Did you try to use catapults or cannons?
