This is one of any number of scenarios I'd find acceptable as a means of getting Kazuo the hell out of the lineup and off the field.

Good for Grudz!! Was a great pick-up for StLouis last year, and the team knew it wasn't going to sign him beyond last year no matter what happened.

The draft pick depends on whether or not the Cards offer him arbitration.

i am under the impression that per gurdz's contract the cards are not permitted to offer him arbitration. he signed for one year very cheaply to try to rebuild his market value and didnt want the whole draft pick thing to get in the way of him receiving offers.

I hadn't heard that but it wouldn't surprise me.

That's correct. The Cardinals cannot offer arbitration.
