Why not? I'd pay good money, because he's a good player, and 2B stability is omething we haven't had in a while. Remember 2004, when 2B was an eternal Anderson-Womack-Luna-Hart platoon? Never again.

Why not? I'd pay good money, because he's a good player, and 2B stability is omething we haven't had in a while. Remember 2004, when 2B was an eternal Anderson-Womack-Luna-Hart platoon? Never again.

Mostly cause he is looking for a multi-year deal and I don't think the Cards will commit to a 35 year old with a history of injury trouble.

i was hoping no one would post that since it kind of depresses me. the cards are acting really cheap lately. i hope its because they plan to spend some money on an impact player. walt is talking like miles and bigbie have legitimate shots of being regulars . bigbie could be a decent reserve. i'd pay miles to play elsewhere. how is he an upgrade over luna anyway? supposing king really did burn bridges and buy his ticket out of town, i figured given the stupid market for relievers we could have gotten someone back with a little more promise than bigbie and miles.

i hope grudz does well elsewhere. i would have liked him back for one more year anyway.

an interesting thought is that it seems the market is going a little crazy with trades and such early in the offseason. teams are looking to fill holes early. there could be some real free agent bargains, good non-tenders, and decent trade opportunities late in the offseason.

Miles isn't so bad (would have been nice to get a little more of a power hitter), but Bigbie's a joke. If we're lucky, maybe he's just filling the old utility spot of Mabry, and we're signing someone real to take over the outfield.

miles is horrible. he is a 29 year old part time player for the rockies. his non adjusted ops was .661 last year. thats 100 points below part timer hector luna, and NOT adjusting for park factors. i just dont see how he has any value to us, and if he were sent to memphis he would be behind bo hart on the depth chart.

There's got to be something big in the works if this is all we've gotten so far. I've been pretty much out of touch will all of humanity for the last week and a half so he may already be traded, but hopefully this means Marquis is on his way to ARI for Vazquez.

Arizona said they wouldn't pay any of Vaz's salary so that isn't going to happen.
