well let's see, there are 30 teams in baseball, and not even 1/3 of them have won a world series since the Braves last one, so yes I will. The Braves recent postseason woes have been horrible, but receiving insults from a fan of a team that I think I can say has never beaten the Braves for a playoff spot... at least in mylifetime... yes I will throw the World Series in your face... along with the 13 straigth division championships...

Listen, we'll talk once you've won a division title while in the same division as Atlanta. But until then, the only trip the Mets have had to the playoffs in recent memory was through the wild card. Get used to that road. I'm pretty sure it's the only way you'll be playing late this fall.

And FWIW, I'm scared like crazy of the Mets right now. Minaya has made a series of good moves to fill what were points of weakness with quality players. This team should be very, very good next year.
Where they stand 2 years from now I won't say, but next year, they've already biult a contender, and I don't think they're quite done.

I don't mean to be childish (although I am) but get off my crank, will you guys? I did not come to this thread to start slamming the Braves. It was one of your own who fired the first volley.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
I'm not going to be scared of the Mets until some starting pitching beyond Pedro steps foot into Shea Stadium. There's just not enough pitching on this team to take them into the play-offs IMO.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

Mets - 3rd best ERA+ in the NL last year, and added a closer that actually closes out games.

I disagree a bit, I think the Mets as of now have enough pitching and hitting to get to the playoffs for sure, but as of right now I don't think they have enough pitching behind Pedro to go far in the playoffs.
