Then again, we do have a few already going (don't know why), so you never know.
May be pointless for you, but it would certainly help me out.

No worries guys . Wasn't trying to rain on your parade or anything, but I'm curious as to why do a mock so early, when it won't be accurate? How is that beneficial in any way?
Take Soriano for example. You have your projections and what you are willing to spend on him. Now say he gets traded to the Mets and has to hit in Shea. Doesn't that severly change your projections and dollar value for him? How about Zito pitching in Texas instead of Oakland?
Just a couple of the many examples that will toast a mock draft done this early.
About the only benefit I can see of doing a mock this early is to get used to drafting from every spot in the order, but even that would have to be taken with a grain of salt when all is said and done because it wouldn't be accurate, and that's also a snake draft, not an auction. I just don't see a reason to do an auction this early. Maybe you can enlighten me?
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
I for one find them valuable from the stand point that as the off season progresses you can see how peoples opinions change of players. For instance:
Jim Thome went in RotoJunkie's mock at 171st before his trade. Then he goes to Chicago and suddenly he goes 64th in RotoJunkie and 68th in FBC....that is a huge jump.
When CBS and ESPN start doing their mock averages you can't see all the picks made and you don't know whether the league was crap and whether certain players are being picked that are throwing averages off.
These help me get an idea of what "serious" baseball people think of players. It helps on my draft.

Word.
As far as players like Zito and Soriano go, I'm less concerned with them than I am about guys who go late. Always very interesting to see other peoples sleepers, and it gives me time to check them out for myself. Judging by the speed of the Mock I forum, we won't be wrapping it up til Feb anyway, and then it's really just a matter of days til my big draft- I'm deadset on demonstrating that my 05 title was no fluke.

That's probably the best point that's been made, and I can certainly see the benefit of that.

I think there's a point in having one early draft, like we've got now, so people who are actually drafting really early have something to go on, but i'd certainly hold out on starting the rest until after Christmas.
Just like to take this opportunity to plug my NL-only mock, which will be starting mid-jan.
