Pirates pursuing Nomar..?

Exactly! Why not Pittsburgh? :-? We need a 3B desperately as Mackowiak and Sanchez aren't going to cut it in the power and average department.

Sure, there's a risk he'll just get hurt again. But, if he stays healthy and can do even 3/4 of what he used to, it's a big improvement for our team...not to mention that more people may decide to come and watch. He might also inspire other players to focus more in some way. If we have extra money that the owners are willing to spend on players this year, then by golly we need to do something with it. 3B is our biggest need, and I would love to see him beside Wilson, Castillo, and whoever we throw into 1B (Wilson, Eldred, whoever) every day. ;-D

I'll take him here in MN, his right handed bat would look nice in the lineup between the M&M boys, or would it then be MnM?

1. Stew- LF
2. Castillo - 2B
3. Mauer - C
4. Nomar - SS/3B
5. Morneau - 1B
6. Hunter - CF
7. Ford - RF/DH
8. Kubel/Ryan/Span/Cheap DH/RF
9. Cuddyer/Bartlett - 3B/SS mattering on where Nomar plays

Not the Mets or the Red Sox, but much better then 2005 Twins

I hear the tribe might bring him in to play either 1B or RF.

That's the latest rumor. If that happens, the Tribe says they will platoon Blake and Broussard at 1B.

I think that would be a great sign for the tribe, IF he stays healthy.

Can Nomar play RF?

I was thinking that might be a match that makes sense the other day. His injury history make him just about affordable for them, and he's one of the few big RH bats available.

I would think that if Nomar were to sign with the Tribe he would fill a super utility role. RF, 3B and 1B. I do think that the Tribe may look at Nomar as an option for 3B as Boone well he just isn't that good. Obviously the Tribe needs help at RF and 1B so he could play there. I just would not be surprised to see Nomar as the Tribe's 3B. Its a more natural position change for him. Sure he could play 1B, who can't? But RF may be a stretch at his age and with his assortment of injuries.
