Its an xfx 7800gt. I have heard that although this card performs the best XFX makes alot of bunk cards.
When I put it in the PCIE slot it is not detected at all by my computer.
I have set it to PCIE as the primary graphics adapter in my bios.
My mobo has an AGP slot and a PCIE slot. The card is PCIE.
My mobo is a Asrock Dual Sata
Here are the issues that I'm thinking
1. Card is Doa
2. Mobo PCIE slot is dead
3. Not getting enough juice.
Now I think its getting enough juice I have all the power cables plugged in and a 550w+ power supply thats pretty decent.
The fan is spining on the card so I think the power is working.
Anyways I'm ticked that it didn't work. i couldn't bring myself to even play games with my new monitor without having the big card in.
So I'm bringing my card into a computer shop at lunch to see if they can get it to run. Then I'll know if it is the card or my mobo. I'm hoping its my mobo so I can play today!
Life is cruel my friends

Have you used yoru PCIE slot before? If so, it's almost certainly the card. If you've never used it, then perhaps it could be the mobo, but it doesn't seem logical. Is there a way to test the card in another computer?

I've used the AGP slot but never the PCIE slot. I'm brining the card over to Microcenter or PC Club to see if they can throw it in a board and bring it up. Seems to me the card is dead. When you have dead ram it doesn't detect it just like this. Beeps as if there is nothing there at all.

Yeah, only with RAM, you have a test slot. With this your best bet would be trying it out in a different PC.
