but maybe it is just me, I find it hard to get excited about a 30 year old reliever with a career 3.54 ERA and a career 1.32 WHIP ..
In 2006 Ryan will get more saves than Hoffman (or whoever fills in for him after he decides to sign with a better team) and the Jays will win more games than the San Diego team.
Chew on that monkey.
lmao ..
Didn't you lose a similar 'closer' bet to me last year? And now your back for more?
Nice how you address the closer comment but you are accepting that the Jays will win more games than the Padres.
so are you still excited?
You overpaid a career 3.3 ERA reliever to be your closer, and lost out on Giles.
And I hate to burst your bubble, but no way in hell Burnett goes to Canada
and for the record ...
The Padres would kick the chit out of the Blue Jays, day, night, afternoon, coming, going, you name it ... "Kick the chit"!!!
Maybe we should add a little funds to this feud ...
say 5.00 per game.
The difference between their 2006 regular season records?

he will be signing very soon.
I say withing the next 3-4 days.
St Louis, has not made an official offer yet as far as I know, and they are balking at giving him 5 years.
As a lifetime Blue Jays fan, I can honestly say that this is the most excited I have been in the offseason for my team since they were a dominant team in the early 90's. They may not win the world series, they may not even make the playoffs, but they MIGHT. I think, assuming they add 1 more quality SP and 1 bat, that this is the first time in a number of years that you could realistically say that.

Well, I don't think there needs to be any apology. You said there was no chance he came to Toronto. He was considering it, but the Padres still got him.
