No baseball transaction can take place without a Dodger fan being reminded of a stupid Dodger trade, in this case Konerko for Jeff Shaw circa 1996.

I've gotta say it, I just can't help myself...
Imagine how impressive that lineup would be with Carlos Lee in it!

Whether or not they can contend next year largely depend on their pitching now
Buehrle was pitching over his head last year(most of last year)
so was Garland. I tend to be a believer in Contreras but he could get wild sometimes. Freddy Garcia is not a problem but Orlando Hernandez is one years older. And the fact that they don't have a proven closer(otherwise very good bullpen though)
Are you interested in joining a 28 teams dynasty league? If so, PM me.

Oh for sure!

When they go through a "rough patch" or don't win the WS again (or whatever), I can't wait for somone to cite their "departure from small-ball tactics" that caused their downfall. It's going to be great comedy.

Blessing in disguise for Bill Stoneman and the Angels. We didn't need him.
Now we can watch Kotchman and/or Morales grow and flourish at 1B. Though I heard rumor that Kotchman is in a deal for Mike Sweeney with the Royals so Sweeney can be a full-time DH for the Angels, not the answer IMO.
Brian Giles or Manny would be the bat the Angels need to protect Vlad. So many bogus rumors, don't know who to believe anymore.
