IMO, AJ Burnett is highly overrated and is going to benefit because of all the hype surrounding him and an extremely weak free agent market. Can't wait to see some team grossly overpay for a career 49-50 pitcher with an attitude problem. Just wanted to get everyone else's thoughts on him.

I seriously doubt the Yankees are going to go after any starting pitchers this year. They are returning 7 starters from last season (Pavano, Wright, Mussina, Johnson, Small, Chacon, and Wang). The best thing about this is that the Yanks already have long relief help, as 2 of these guys will have to go out to the pen (I've read that it will probably be Wright and Small). Plus, it seems like the Yanks aren't out to jump on every big name on the market this offseason either. Steinbrenner seems to be growing calmer the closer he gets to death/turning the team over.

Haha, two to the pen? Um, the might be in the pen for a week before a couple go down.
Although AJ Burnett's stuff can be electric at times, I personally wouldn't want him on my team. He can be wild in tight situations, and his arm is on pins and needles. I voted overrated.
He is overrated based on performance but no way is Burnett overrated based on talent IMO. I realize it's a lot of ifs but if Burnett ever put it all together he has ace talent. The guy's stuff is some of the nastiest in the league when he is on.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Him being behind Halladay makes him more valuable to me. Dishing out money to have him as your ace is one thing, but having him behind a legit #1 makes him more valuable.
