Nunez signs with Philly

Phillies signed infielder Abraham Nunez, who had been with the Cardinals, to a two-year, $3.35 million contract with an option for 2008

Seems like a lot of money for a utility player who is coming off his best season ever.

good for him. i would have liked to have him back but i didnt figure he would be anywhere near as good offensively. the defensive versatility was nice, but i guess thats where luna comes in. i heard part of the reason he left was that he thought he could steal more time at 3b in philly than he would get in stl.

With a (presumably) healthy Rolen from Opening Day I don't see where Nunez would be getting much PT at all. I'm glad that he cashed in on last year, but I'm equally glad is wasn't in STL.
