Man I sure hope this isn't true. Why lock up a player his age in a deal like that! He isn't even a .300 hitter.
Anyone want Garrett Anderson?
A player his age? I think he's 29. What's wrong with a 5 year deal?
I thought he was 32, I guess I am way off. If he is 29 or 30 then this doesn't bother me
as much.
I still think he is making too much money $12 mil per year for being a .270 hitter. If all you need is some pop then there are much cheaper options.
Hopefully he's just found his groove and will be awesome for years to come.
Does this move Erstad back to CF? Or does Konerko become the DH for the majority of the games?
I would think he is the new 1B. I don't think they will want to play Erstad at 1B for 85% of the games and then throw him out in CF rusty. If he is going to play any CF then I think they make the move.
One other thing that angers me with this deal. What to do with Kotchman and Morales? Use them as bait? For Manny? If we do then where does Manny play with GA, Erstad and Vlad in the OF?
DH?
I would love this lineup:
Figgins
O-Cab
Vlad
Manny
Konkero
GA
Erstad
Mathis/Jose Molina
Kennedy
I would not mind that at all.
[edit] I am reading that it's actually 5 years for $65 million
