With no clear-cut first ballot favorites. Is this the year for Sutter or Gossage? Let the arguments ensue! :-)

there were shutouts in 1960, 58, 50, 43, 41, 40. no one was inducted in the HOF those years. 2005 could become one of those shutout years.

but i think sutter has a good chance.

Gary DiSarcina was and is my all time favorite player!

I used to go to the Angel autograph sessions for season ticket holders (my uncle would take me on those days since he had season seats) and I got to shake his hand and I told him he was my favorite player and Rex Hudler who was sitting right next to him fell to the ground laughing saying, "Hey King Fish, someone likes DiSarcina more than you!"

Hell ya I liked DiSarcina more than Salmon.

I even wore number 33 in baseball in honor of DiSarcina. He did it to honor Larry Byrd, which I will forgive him for. He switched to number 9 towards the end of his career though.

so since Pete Rose is no longer elig via ballot, does this mean the only way he can get in is by the Veterans Comittee?
