Conservative member of parliament Belinda Stronach got up and went to sit next to the Prime Minister. She changed parties that day and became a Liberal.

How could she possibly hold some sort of political office? You don't switch political opinions that quickly unless you didn't have a real opinion to begin with.

It seems to me that she didn't just get up and change in the moment. She most likely decided beforehand she was going to change and decided to do it where people would actually notice.

Not that I wouldn't have noticed anyway. O:-)
