Now if they had got Wagner instead I wouldn't be complaining as much now.
But track record is the key, Don't talk potential with me. [/b]Ryan is 30[/b]
Ryan is more likely to improve at his age, Wagner isn't.
compare Ryan with Wagner is like comparing Mike Cameron with Vlad Guerrerro
Are you interested in joining a 28 teams dynasty league? If so, PM me.

I'd rather have Ryan than Wagner.
Cheaper and younger, just as good.
PlayingWithFire wrote:I thought Batista did a fine job as a closer and they should pursuit a power hitter at 1B(why did let Delgado go in the first place?) or a SP(Burnett)
Mweir would say differently.
Batista wasn't the answer.
The Jays signed Ryan knowing that they had to give him a lot. THey had to show that Toronto was going to contend and wasn't afraid to give money to some free agents. They had to show that we are pushing for contention. Critics don't even know if Ryan will falter. If he does amazing, we will look pretty good. I also think that there is going to be a deal with Batista, because theres not really much room for him and they must have thought something out before signing Ryan.
Thats just my .02
They need a number 2 starter and a power bat wayyyy more than 3 more saves from Ryan
They still have enough for either Burnett or Giles.
From what I've read, they still have enough to get both, but I'm not sure they will go after Burnett if he pushes his request past Halladay's salary.
No. Toronto is one of the places Giles is interested in.
hmm....let's put it that way, there is a better chance that Darcy Tucker will score 30 goals this season than Toronto has a shot at Giles
This is the beginning of an ESPN insider article right now, I wish I was able to read the entire thing.
ESPN wrote:The Blue Jays have made "significant inroads" in their pursuit of free-agent outfielder Brian Giles, according to Jeff Blair, and hope to lock up either Giles or A.J. Burnett in the next week. They want to sign both players, and have the money to do so.
So if Toronto manages to pull off a Burnett signing, their front line would look something like this, on paper

Are you serious? Maybe you should take a look at their stats again, over the last 2-3 years..

And you played fantasy baseball in 05, correct?

PWF, I think your the one that's nuts on this one.
I don't see why you think Ryan is so bad. It's nowhere near comparing Vlad and Mike Cameron. That is by far the worst comparison that I've ever heard someone say.
As RynMan said, I'd rather have Ryan. He's younger and I think he'll be the better pitcher.
