that's really helping
You could try getting hypnotized. Or just cover the tips of your sigs in IPICAC syrup so you puke every time you smoke then you will become acccustomed to hating cigs
I think it's best (this is purely from a hypothetical standpoint) to pick up another addicting hobby that doesn't hurt you. I would imagine that an addiction to Fantasy Baseball would keep you intrigued enough. Chewing gum certainly works, as it also keeps your mouth busy.
I however think you should follow in the footsteps of the great Kobayashi and become a professional eater. You'll always be using your mouth and you'll look like the coolest guy on earth when you compete in hot dog eating contests.
You could try some of those smokeless cigs that they sell on the internet that are flavored. I personally enjoy the relaxation of blowing smoke in and out at times, but I know that it's different for someone who's done it chronically due to nicotine.

I quit cold turkey not too long ago, after about 6 years or so of smoking. But I'd go with the patch over gum, if you can afford it (I understand it can get pricey). If you're looking for something in pill form, I highly recommend Zyban, I personally know three people who quit because of it and I took it myself for about a month, and quit for a while (started again afterwards though because I'm an idiot). There are other drugs in the works too, from what I understand.
