If we do trade someone, it will be Payton though, I agree there. Most likely we'd trade him to a team with a strong pen for something involving a good lefty specialist. That would get our missing bullpen piece and clear up the extra OF.

That makes perfect sense. I'll call Billy and let him know. :-D

If you can't get through on that number here is his home number. Cell is better though but he changes it periodically especially just before the trade deadline in July.

If I were living in the states I would try this number to see if you were kidding around or not! :-D

Regarding Thomas, I read in an article yesterday that 3 teams are interested in Thomas, the Twins, Angels and A's. Apparently the teams are waiting til January before doing anything so that they can review his medical etc and probably have him workout for them.

I highly doubt Thomas is going to sign with the A's. However, I just heard today that Eric Brynes has been contacted by the Red Sox.

Zito talks are starting back up again. I think Billy may move him. My gut says something is in the works.

BTW, that number is legit. When I have reason to call the cell I'll give you an answer as to if it is still good. As of August 31st it was.

The Twins signed Rondell White today, and it is expected that he is to be their full time DH, while spotting any outfielders that need a day off. This is great news, cuz it means that they are now out of the Frank Thomas hunt. That leaves 2 teams with reported interest - us and Anaheim. If you ask me, I dont know about Anaheim because they have a log jam of players everywhere as it is. This should mean that Thomas will come CHEAP. Piazza is also another guy that I thought would be perfect for the Twins.....now where does he end up? I think the A's have gotta move on Thomas because the opportunity to get him relatively cheap is presenting itself....

Great news! The Twins were the only other team I really figured as a threat. All's we gotta do is find a team with a lefty specialist we need and trade Payton for him, sign Thomas, and there you have it. Your 2006 World Series Champs. :-D
