I'm getting really annoyed with my yahoo pub league. I'm in the middle of the pack, but my only chance to move up is to get some hitters. The guy who I would've traded with is in second place and has TONS of hitting, but desparately needs pitching.
So, I offer him Dunn and Millwood for Helton and BGiles. He accepts. It gets vetoed. I offer it again. He accepts again. It gets vetoed again.
People never post any reasoning for their vetos, they just do it so that others can't improve their teams. That should NOT be a reason to veto.
This trade is most certainly not vetoable. Going by current numbers, this trade is remarkably even. Of course, us savvy owner know to trade high and buy low. This is an excellent trade for you, and is clearly not a vetoable situation.
Thanks for verifying that I'm not just overly protective of a good swap. It's not like it's a terrible deal for the other guy either. He picked up BGiles off of waivers (don't ask). And he's still got Pujols, Sweeney, Preston Wilson, Aboone, Koskie,AJones, MGiles... and Abreu on the bench!
Unfortunately since its a pub league, there is no commish. Basically 4 votes is all that's needed to veto. IT DOESN'T EVEN SHOW WHO THE COWARDS ARE! And they're all afraid to reply to my posting on the group.
I had a similar situation (Preston Wilson and Charles Johnson for Posada and Hillenbrand). I asked those that vetoed to explain their rationale, and if they couldn't explain it, then they shouldn't veto.
Two days passed, no one posted anything, so I told them we were sending the trade through. It went through.

I had the same problem in some of my Yahoo public league, douchbags vetoing trades b/c it's not them getting the deal.
What I usually do in that case is don't do trades during the weekends; wait until monday or tuesday. This way the guys who do their lineup setting on Sundays for the week probably won't see the trade, thus can't veto it. I just did this on TWO trades which were vetoed over the weekend, and they both cleared this morning.
Miller/Durazo for Preston Wilson
Willis/Drew for Kearns
