Kevin Mench- Kansas City interested in sending Jeremy Affeldt to Texas for him...Pittsburgh interested in sending Kip Wells or another pitcher to Texas for him... Toronto interested in sending Alex Rios, Brandon League or Miguel Batista to Texas for him...Cubs have interest...the Rangers want Zack Greinke, but the Royals refuse to give up that much
Yes, Mench's stock is really high right now, so it would not surprise me in the least if he's traded. Our offense can afford a small hit, but we had better get some decent pitching in return for Mench!
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Alexis Rios is a decent OF, with speed, and developing power.
Brandon League is a fireballer that is in desperate need of developing a second pitch to offset his speed. Control is an issue with League. Toronto had him slated to close but that didn't happen with the consistency of Batista.
Miggy Batista is the Toronto closer and Texas obviously is all set there with Cordero.
Pitching is on the way in Texas with Diamond and Danks. Its a shame Arlington is such a bandbox for hitters otherwise you could take Bronson Arroyo for the Red Sox. He is only 4 mil a season.
Agreed about Arroyo. If we were not in such an extreme hitter's park, Arroyo could possibly work out nicely.
If Batista landed in Texas, he would go into the rotation. I don't really see that happening though.
The Rangers will want more than just League for Mench.
I hope you're right about Diamond and Danks. I'm tired of watching the kids come up, fail, get replaced and demoted back to the minors, work their way back up, fail again, get demoted again, repeat, repeat, repeat.
I read in the Sunday Fort Worth Star Telegram that the Rangers are still talking to the Marlins........this time about getting Juan Pierre ! The article mentioned that if we move Mench right now, we'll need a left fielder and the Ranger's organization thinks Pierre will fit in nicely there along with Nix in center and Matthews in right. Interesting proposition that's had me thinking most of the day.

The Marlins are watching to see what happens with Johnny Damon first before they move on Pierre.
Joey Gathright is out there as well and I read somewhere the Rangers and DRays have talked about him.
Got a few more interesting news pieces and updates:
The Rangers are trying to sign Dotel. I don't mind that gamble as long as he's cheap. Not really a big deal for me if we don't get him though.
We're trying to get Matt Morris to visit, but due to the park being so hitter friendly, he's not too excited to come down.
The Rangers are telling clubs they want major league help right now if anyone's interested in Adrian Gonzalez.
The Mets are possibly interested in Soriano.
We've got a group of people looking at ways to make Ameriquest less hitter friendly.
Just some random updates from the papers down here.

why do you think we're going after him? do they think francisco was a one year wonder maybe?

Which one? Frankie Francisco or Francisco Cordero?
Gotta love having those two on the same team.
In all seriousness, no, Cordero is still the closer. The Rangers just want to add some depth to the bullpen. Getting the lead to Cordero was a problem last year, so they want to make that easier this season.
