It could help both quite a bit, but alot depends on injuires. Rowand is going to a real hitters park and the lineup around him is almost as good as it was in Chi.

The DH role give Thome a better shot at staying healthy and even though his power numbers might go down from 03 and 04, playing 140 games (if he can) will help overall.

heck yeah Rowand runs old man Lofton outta town! And old man Thomes departure opens the door for Ryan Howard to break out!

It's a good trade, especially considering I don't like Rowand. But now they have two first basemen - Konerko and Thome. I'm probably the only one who sees that posing as a problem.

You do realize that Lofton put up the best batting average in the national league of players that had enough ab's to qualify. I will agree with you that it does allow the Howard era to begin, but it would have been better to get some pitching in return.

I like Player talk here ... ;-D

it won't be as cluttered as leftovers .. I never knew this expanded .. hmm ..

anyways I think it is a win win for both teams.

Thome is still a beast and he will be an insane combo next to Konerko.
Philly gets a badly needed CF and Howard gets a gig.
