Cardinals were quoted in the StL Dispatch saying that pitching was their main concern this offseason, than some bats (Aka Brian Giles). LaRussa and kind have met with Burnett and agent a couple times, so hopefully AJ is coming to StLouis. Plus, a rotation starting with Carpenter, Burnett, Mulder than etc. would be fun to watch!

...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

I don't see the O's signing him, they aren't attracted by the length or size of his supposed contract request. His wife is from the area, but the Nationals probably have a better chance of getting him.

I'd rather them trade Marquis+someone for Vazquez before they overpay for Burnett.

Isn't Vazquez overpaid? I'd rather have Burnett I think..

I think the Yankees are still picking up part (most?) of his contract aren't they?

I'm not sure how that works if he's traded, but I think someone other than the Cardinals (either Yankees or D-Backs) would have to eat a big part of the tab on that contract.
