Don't be too sure about that. Peralta slugged .520 last season...Tejada has only done that once. Peralta's OPS+ was 138...higher than Tejada has ever done.
Peralta at 23 hit .292/.520 with 24 homeruns and 78 rbi.
Tejada at 23 hit .251/.427 with 21 homeruns and 84 rbi.
Peralta's in a pretty favorable Cleveland lineup as Tejada was with Oakland in his early years.
Peralta was born on May 28th in the D.R.
Tejada was born on May 25th in the D.R.
The most similar batter to Peralta through age 23 at baseball-reference is Ernie Banks.
Go ahead and over-rate Tejada all you wish though.

I really agree with this. Tejada almost killed me last year

. I'm looking for value next year from my SS. Peralta if nothing else offers great potential. I'll be drafting him.

I'm thinking from the 9th to 12th. Most SS will be taken before him no quesiton. So he might be available after that.
SS that will or should be taken before him.
Tejada
Young
Jeter
Rollins
Furcal
Figgins
Reyes
Normar
Crosby
Lopez
Barmes
Edgar R
He should be available late I would think.

I know I would not be taking Crosby, Barmes, Edgar, and probably Nomar (just because I dont trust Nomar's health) before Peralta and I really dont see how anyone would want three out the four (other than Nomar) before a young and productive Peralta in a great up and coming lineup. I see Peralta going about the same as Lopez depending on personal prejections and rankings.
