I feel bad for Girardi. Maybe he knew the deal going in but it seems like he just got the shaft. Rough way to make a first impression.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Really? Looking at that potential staff. I'd say he was brought in for a reason. I just hope he has the patience.
I think the question is will everyone else have patience with him.

If I were a top free agent and had to choose between two teams, the Marlins being one of them, I would almost invariably choose the other. The Marlins, especially i/r/t Delgado, have shown a frightening propensity to make you get comfortable and happy and then toss you to the side. I wonder if their periodic rebuilding will make potential FA's a little wary of signing with them.

thats a fair question.
But, I figure he had to know when they hired him, that 3/5's of his starting staff was going to have an average age of 23. And that is why he was targeted first this offseason.
He is an ideal candidate to bring the kids to the next level.
I agree about that. If Girardi is given a fair shake I think he is going to become an excellent coach.

Yeah But, they could be very good in a couple of year, they need to sign maybe a veteran pitcher or 2 but that is a very good young team. Some great potential there.
I could beat the d-rays and royals, i'm super. Florida is lookin like the old montreal team, developing some nice players for the contenders. Cant wait to see M Cab on the yanks woo woo.
