How did U2 bearly made it past Green Day(Come on, 16-14 against Green Day?) 20+ years of good music and they got blow out the very next round by Gun n' roses? What kind of seeding is that?

IMO U2 and Green Day both suck nowadays.

but U2 used to be alright.

Green Day was never all that good

There were a handful of stipulations, one being that you were to focus mainly on the 1990's. Most would agree that aside from Achtung Baby that U2 really declined in the 90's.

Simulacrum you hit the nail on the head with RHCP. Mother's Milk is probably their best album with BSSM a close second. After that I wasn't real impressed with their work. Californication had its moments but its still a far cry from their work pre-1990. I'd rather listen to Milk, Freakey Styley, or Uplift Mofo Party Plan over their new crap.
