Except he can play defense. What are the odds LAA trades him, and what are they looking for in return?
...i think manny ends up in anaheim and erstad, donnelly and a top prospect go to the sox w/the sox paying none of manny's $
One of today's papers reported that the 'Yanks are interested in Mota & Villone. Kind of curious about the asking price of those relievers.
Anyone hear news on the Pavano front?
Manny says either the Angels or Mariners would be a fine destination. Of course, for various reasons (financial or not a good fit) the A's, the Padres, the Giants, and Dodgers don't seem viable. The Sox would need a good hitter back in trade and still need to augment their relief corps. Talk radio in Boston has bandied about names in Seattle like Ichiro or Sexson (I'd take either). The Angels don't have the proven big bat available (certainly not Erstad with his pathetic OPS), but have a load of top notch relievers (ie Shields or Donnelly) and a load of promising young hitters.
Stark always says Soriano is going to the Mets. It's like his fallback option. When he has nothing else to say he pulls out the Soriano to the Mets card.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Is that like Gammons saying Griffey is on the move?

I heard at least twice last year, "Griffey is going to the White Sox..." Then I think I heard him say that the Yanks were going to get him. You were wrong, just like you always were Pete...

I do think they will get Soriano. Not for Milledge though, that's awful. The Rangers don't want Soriano. It won't take much for the Mets to get him. My guess is a Heilman/Seo/Trachsel type package, with a mid-level prospect.
