If you were to create a keeper league with eight players on your team that could not be traded from your team, and would remain in your lineup for the next 10 years who, whould you currently want in it and why?
1. Pujols
2. Santana
3. Wright
4. Miggy Cabrera
5. Felix Hernandez
6. Texieria
7. Bay
8. A-Rod
For reasons that I say stand for themselves, they are all young or relatively so, and they are some of the best players in the game. Some could even get better.
Well, Speed is one of those things that can go fairly quickly. I'm not sure I'd want any speed guys on a team locked in for ten years, just because the chance of a terrible decline is so much greater. It depends, of course, on your scoring, but i'd rather take my chances with a team of big hitters and take a few SB here and there from ARod, Bay etc. Assuming you can redraft for the rest of your roster, I'd just take the current speedy guy from year to year.

I didn't know I was assembling a team, I just went with the top 8 players I'd want for the next decade. If I was assembling a team, Crawford would definitely have been in the mix.

Good list. I'd take out felix and put in peavy, though. He's got a longer track record and is only 24.
