Yeah nothing special. Could be worth a look in leagues that have two catcher spots if he starts on a regular basis.

Hmm.. gotta love that jump in SLG and OBP in his last season. Still only 29, I wonder if we can expect a poor-man's version of Hideki? I don't know how bad/good the pitching is in Japan, but his numbers are good none the less. Can anyone who knows japanese baseball chime in on this one?

He could be a decent late round gamble. I'd be higher on him if it wasn't Safeco he was going to (It seems it's either the M's or back to Japan). He'll probably turn out to be a better real player than fantasy, but I would predict something like .280/350/450
The slugging always seems to be the harder to predict when Japanese players come over.

The Seattle Times is reporting that Johjima will sign with the Mariners.

Scoring the first big-name free-agent signing of the offseason, the Mariners will announce the signing of catcher Kenji Johjima, possibly as soon as today.

Sources say that Johjima has agreed to terms with Seattle. His name is much bigger in Japan, where he has averaged .305 with 30 homers the past five years and won seven straight Gold Gloves.
