What were Hideki's numbers before coming over? Just as a comparison... we won't talk about Kaz just to spare Mets fans
Edit: Just looked them up. Here are Matsui's last 3 years before coming.
.316/.438/.654 42 HR, 108 RBI in 474 AB's
.333/.463/.617 36 HR, 104 RBI in 481 AB's
.334/.461/.692 50 HR, 107 RBI in 500 AB's
And Jojima's numbers the past 3 seasons:
.293/.348/.517 25 HR, 74 RBI in 416 AB's
.330/.399/.593 34 HR, 119 RBI in 551 AB's
.338/.432/.655 36 HR, 91 RBI in 426 AB's
Hmm.. gotta love that jump in SLG and OBP in his last season. Still only 29, I wonder if we can expect a poor-man's version of Hideki? I don't know how bad/good the pitching is in Japan, but his numbers are good none the less. Can anyone who knows japanese baseball chime in on this one?
