Hey guys, I have seen a lot of sigs around here, and it seems that most of you guys are able to maintain a lot of quality even when the sig is downsized, yet I find myself have to downsize into the low 20's in quality constantly. Anyone have any tips for helping to maintain the quality? Thanks

if you are using photoshop i just click save for web (under file) and then click the arrow next to the preset label (whihc will be unnamed) click optomize to file size .in the box put 12 (as this is the kb limit we have) and then click the auto select option. save and voila you are good to go. if you are not using PS then i can't help ya.

Yeah that's exactly what I do, and it seems like every time it ends up having to be in the low 20's for quality to fit in 12 KB

like da1chipo said Keep It Simple (I'll leave this one out)
try to keep the number of colors down and don't use too many contrasting colors, try to use similar tones. Don't go crazy with the effects.
