Where do I go from Here?

Postby prhood » Mon Nov 14, 2005 2:38 pm

I inherited the following Team after the 2005 season

1B Helton, Todd ($38)
1B/OF Huff, Aubrey ($27)
2B Iguchi, Tadahito ($4)
2B Uribe, Juan ($2)
3B Rodriguez, Alex ($37)
C Barrett, Michael ($1)
OF Anderson, Garret ($16)
OF Crisp, Coco ($4)
OF Holliday, Matt ($3)**
OF Jones, Jacque ($2)
OF Kearns, Austin ($4)
P Peavy, Jake ($31)
P Batista, Miguel ($1)
P Benson, Kris ($1)
P Guardado, Eddie ($4)
P Harang, Aaron ($3)
P Lackey, John ($1) **
P Lee, Cliff ($3)
P Loaiza, Esteban ($5)
P Millwood, Kevin ($2)
P Perez, Odalis ($13) - DL
P Wickman, Bob ($1)
SS Betemit, Wilson ($1)
SS Tejada, Miguel ($32)
UT Beltre, Adrian ($32)
UT Johnson, Nick ($3)

** Players who are NOT FAs following the 2006 season.

Minor League Prospects **
1B Loney, James
SS Hardy, J.J.
P Reyes, Anthony
P Meyer, Dan
P Maine, John
OF Choo, Shin-Soo
C Quiroz, Guillermo
P Rosario, Francisco
P Chad Billingsley
OF Lastings Milledge
OF Nick Markakis

1 Peavey and Huff were acquired in a trade for Crawford ($39) and Loaiza ($5)
2. Hardy acquired in Trade for Gavin Floyd
3. Betemit acquired in trade for John Danks

This team finished 4th in a 12 team 5v5 standard Roto salary cap ($260) league with a total of 70 pts - 41.5 in hitting and 28.5 in pitching.

The 1st part of the plan was to bolster SP which I have done (I hope) with the acquisition of Peavey. I plan to drop Benson, Perez and probably Harang. Promote one or both of Reyes and Billingsley to the active roster if theyare starters in 2006. Finally I think I need to acquire another good bat and some good RP - probably middle relief since stops are in short supply. Hardy is, I hope my shortstop for the 2007-10 period.

To free up budget space, I may release Beltre, Anderson and others in order to acquire the needed parts.

All the players except those with ** will be FAs at the end of the 2006 season. All teams are in a similar position.

Any suggestions, comments, etc.

instead of just droping beltre try and go for a sp or 2b. i think u have more of a hole at 2b than pitching. also work on getting some decent rps. i think u have a solid team though.
Who says I can't be a Yankees and Mets fan???
