Hey let's hear it for Austin Kearns. Today he stole his 5th base in the last month! If he keeps it up he'll be a 5-tool player. Stand up and say hey if you got Kearns on your squad!

and i've been there for a couple of his steals, and been listening to or watching the others. they are almost invariably, it would seem, precipitating as a result of planned double steals. i would suggest not reading into too much of this--he is slow as dirt, but gets good jumps.

Thanks for the info, that's good to know. I was actually half-joking - though I'm certainly happy with the steals! From everything I've heard, Kearns is slower than dirt. Every time I see that he's had a steal I'm shocked. Hopefully B. Boone will keep handing him the freebies...

He needs to do something to make up for his slight lack of HR's he's had since that torrid pace he started at the beginning of the season.

I'm with you, mcqfesijiba. I have Kearns on my fantasy team, so I obviously want to see him perform. But he has slowed considerably as of late.

Over the past 30 days, he has 8 R, 2 HR, 16 RBI, 4 SB, and a .258 BA. That's not good enough.

Here's hoping he finds that HR swing again real soon.
