I could see Overbay being moved to a team looking for a better 1b-man with excess SP...maybe Toronto (Towers?) or Anaheim (Byrd?), although the Angels have prospects in waiting at 1b.

isnt byrd a free agent? if the Angels dont get Konerko, they might look to Overbay as an option, but i think Kotchman is their fallback plan for now. I'm thinking Mets might go for Overbay if they dont get Manny.

I wasn't too sure Byrd was a FA or not when I originally posted...checking on it now I see that he is a free agent, so scratch the Anaheim plan.

Byrd is indeed a FA and the Angels are reportedly working feverishly to get him to re-up. But I don't think they can afford to give up any SP in any case. I think the latest Mets plan is to go with Mike Jacobs at 1B w/ maybe a Julio Franco or Eduardo Perez type to platoon with him. I'm not sure how that will work out :-X

What about Baltimore? They could use Overbay at first and have a great number of young pitchers. One of those arms should be able to get them Overbay.
