In July the Blue Jays traded infield utility man John MacDonald to the Tigers for cash.

Today, three months later the Tigers traded John MacDonald back to the Jays for cash. :*)

Was it the same amount of cash both times? I'm curious if his value went up or down... :-?

I'm guessing this means the end of Menechino's career as a Jay?

Adams isn't going anywhere, I'm assuming McDonald will just be the backup SS next year for the Jays, playing agaisnt lefties occasionally.

I think that MacDonald is there as an insurance policy. He is great defensively at almost every infield position but can't hit worth a lick. I think that he can be sent to Syracuse if there isn't a spot for him. He will be like Luis Sojo used to be.

btw - if two teams tried this in any of my leagues I would suspect them of collusion.

He was friends with my younger brother, and I played wiffleball with him a couple of times. He couldn't hit back then either! :-b

He was a cool kid though, and he's probably a good clubhouse presence in addition to his defense.
