Two major league sources told the Dallas Morning News that the Rangers have had multiple discussions with the Padres regarding right-hander Adam Eaton.

The paper does nothing to further the rumors of a swap of Alfonso Soriano and Laynce Nix for Eaton and Mark Loretta. Instead, the Rangers could send Gerald Laird and either Nix or Adrian Gonzalez to San Diego for Eaton. That seems like quite a bit to give up, what with Eaton being eligible for free agency after next season. Nov. 10 - 3:05 am et

Rumor has it that the Rangers are dangling Adrian Gonzalez in front of just about everybody to see what pitching they can get in return.

It would be nice to see Adrian dealt for the right price, but I agree that Eaton is not "the right price."

I have no problems dealing Adrian at all. We really don't need his bat.

Laird is our catcher of the future though, so putting him with Adrian for Eaton is way, way too much to give up.
