Impact 2nd Year Players

What are your thoughts on the following youngsters? What type of numbers are reasonable to expect?

Matt Cain
Francisco Liriano
Scott Baker

I'll post my prediction after I see some of yours.

Hermida - .285 22 88 80 6

Cain - 170IP 12-7 120K 3.45ERA 1.15Whip

Liriano - 170IP 11-7 145K 3.80ERA 1.18Whip

Baker - I think will probably be up and down with the big league club. Still a year away for fantasy purposes.

Reasonable expectations are fairly conservative, especially with youthful players like the ones you posted.

I think Hermida is safe for .280, 10 Hr, 65rbi, 65 runs, 10 steals.

That's what I guarantee, provided he doesn't get hurt, granted they are low figures.

Second year pitchers are normally a lot harder to predict: look at Greinke last season...I'd let someone else chance on them.

hermida could easily put up 20-20 numbers with a average nearing 300 this year.... a future fantasy stud in the making for sure.....

He definitely has the potential to be, especially playing in a significantly weaker division, he will have Barry back next year hopefully which should provide some run support. He also doesn't carry half the injury risk that blister boy does.

At this point, I think Liriano has a far better chance of succeeding next year than Cain because he doesn't walk nearly as many people... Cain's walk rate was ridiculous this past year, and that will kill you.
